The US National Hurricane Center on Sunday upgraded Michael (seen in this satellite image) from a tropical depression to a named tropical storm, saying Michael had winds of up to 50mphFlorida braces for ANOTHER hurricane: Tropical Storm Michael is heading to the Gulf Coast amid fears it will strengthen to a 'life-threatening' Category 2 storm with       winds up to 100mph

The storm named Michael is said to turn into a fully blown hurricane and reach potential speeds of up to 50M/ph. It can also deliver up 4-8 inches of rain along with it. All families in the Florida area have been warned and told to prepare appropriately as anyone can be a victim of the hurricane. The hurricane is currently passing through Mexico and is said to to be passing the Gulf of Mexico around Tuesday and Monday, and is said to reach Florida by Wednesday.

This is an example of hard news as it's not for entertainment purposes. It appeals to an audience mainly living in Florida, or who may have close friends and family in the Florida area as it's a form of surveillance and people will be interested to find out what the results of the hurricane will be. It is also a a case of frequency as Florida faces many hurricanes.

A limousine crashed on its way to a surprise birthday party carrying several close friends and family members to a 30th birthday party when it ploughed into a parked car killing 20 people.

The story would be relevant to people living in New York due to it's Familiarity and it happening in peoples local community. It is also an example of negativity as it is a horrible event. The story is also ambiguous  as not all the details have yet been revealed and people may wonder who's at fault for this event.
