Disney is fueling our childhood fantasies with a slew of live-action reboots of the most classic hits. We’ve already been blessed with the magic of Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book and Christopher Robin, and soon, live-action versions of Aladdin, Dumbo, and Mulan will also be making their ways to the big screen. But the film getting a ton of buzz lately is undoubtedly Disney’s The Lion King. Yes, Simba is about to be crowned once more.

Dalton Harris Opens Up About Homelessness And Abuse


DALTON HARRIS has spoken out about how his troubled childhood and early adult life which included abuse and a period of homelessness. The X Factor contestant, who has been consistently impressing judges with his vocal talent week after week, has revealed that he lived a life of poverty before appearing on the show. Harris, who is from Jamaica, grew up sharing two rooms with five siblings and other lodgers.

This is an example soft news as it's about a celebrity's life.

1) What type of text is it? It's a front page of a newspaper 2) How do you know? What are the key conventions that allowed you to identify the text? The "Daily Mail" logo at the top of the paper. The main headline right in the centre of the paper, along with a picture the it's right. Several smaller stories and headlines along the bottom of the paper. The really basic colours, and being majority black and white also shows us that it's a newspaper. 3) In your opinion, who is the target audience for this media text? Mostly adults above the age of 25, and elderly people. The mass demographic who'd want to read this particular copy would be interested in the main headline about the Military therefore I'd assume that'd me mostly men. 4) How would this audience access the text? 1) Why is representation an important concept in Media Studies? Representation is important because it portrays people on what they are like and so if the media portrays people or a group of people in a bad way then it could lead to them people getting stereotyped and not being shown to how they truly are. There is so many cases where this is true but as time go's on some stereotypes on people tend to break. 2) How does the example of Kate Middleton show the way different meanings can be created in the media? It shows the media uses an image or a story to portray someone in however they want to be in a good light or a bad light and with the Kate Middleton example they could imply if they wanted choose the pictures that made her look bad and use the ones and make it seem like she had a drinking problem.
