Genre

1) What example is provided of why visual iconographies are so important?
The use of deep space to present a Sci-Fi, this is so movies can present, and set the scene without having to directly tell the audience. This can be said as "Show not tell" as the audience isn't told what the genre is but they're able to identify the genre just by an opening scene.


2) What examples are provided of the importance of narrative in identifying genre?
Tabloid newspapers are clearly identifiable by the way they are laid out, in the black and white writing. 

3) What is the difference between character representation in action movies and disaster movies?
In action movies they tend to be incredibly brave and fast, whereas in disaster movies they tend to be smarter. But they both always have a valiant and heroic character that helps out. One of the differences may be that in disaster movies more people tend to die.

 You can analyse things that all superhero movies do such as a Cliche. For example, the hero always has some sort of down-fall half way through the movie, but recovers from it and manages to save the day.

It's a well-known text and I've seen the movie.

Remember it from when I was younger and the movie.

Mainly positive and memorable

It has the superhero on the front performing something the hero does throughout the move (In this instance web swinging)

To be filled with action, but have snippets of over the top drama (Most likely involving family/a lover) and a very powerful villain. Also some internal conflicts.

The protagonist overcoming the villain and saving the day, also saving a loved one.

It has the very basic layout of a superhero movie following the conventional

When Spiderman loses his powers and abilities.

The convetions or love/romance is more to a rom/com than an action.

The movie wants me to sympathise for Peter Parker about his social awkwardness.

A comic book fan generally, but also a teen.

That the audience is generally under the age of 25.

Reading comic books and watching movies. Also science.
